And the Worst Movie in the World Goes to......

Well, you guessed it, Twilight. I watched it last night with a few of my friends and we all came to the unanimous conclusion that it is the worst movie and adaptation ever made. It's embarrassing to watch. The dialogue was laughable, the acting was atrocious, the effects were cheesy, and the cinematography was completely random with no particular vision or setup.

Catherine Harkwicke has one good movie out of four that is well-done, and that was Thirteen. That was made five years ago, and Hardwicke is still trying to utilize a documentary type style of filming, which does not work for a teen vampire film. At least, she isn't using those stupid filters anymore. Although, she did manage to put in the stupid author cameo. (Stephenie Meyer appears in one of the diner scenes.)

What I noticed with new eye candy, Robert Pattinson, is his awkward acting style as Edward Cullen. I read that he admires Jack Nicholson (who doesn't), and I saw some Nicholson impressions come out in his acting. It was sad. Also his facial expressions were hilarious, especially when he was meant to look scary and mad. He just looked constipated.
I think Kristen Stewart did a good job as Bella Swan, with what they gave her, however, that really doesn't say much since no one in this movie could really act. Nikki Reed, a Hardwicke regular, made an appearance in a cliched character of Rosalie. Put it this way Reed is to Hardwicke as Roxane Mesquida is to Catherine Breillat.

Edward and Bella are supposed to be each other's great love. The movie does not portray this well and does not establish it well either. It was rushed and came about with no inclination. Everything in the movie seemed rushed at first, but they drew out other parts. Parts that were not very important!

Seriously, don't waste $8 on this. It's so not worth it. It's an embarrassment to Hollywood.
